After a 3-2 road win over the B2002-B Crossfire Premier side to open the campaign, the defense from the 02As were stellar, allowing just one goal in the next three games to earn a spot in the semifinals, which will see them face the Crossfire B2002-A team that won the other group. Immediately after the win at Crossfire, the lads played a scoreless draw at WPFC the following day on the road to close out January. Last weekend at home they played PacNW to a 1-1 draw on Saturday and edged Seattle United 1-0 Sunday.
Also advancing to the elimination stage of the State Cup tournament were the B2001-A boys. They played visiting GS Surf to a 1-1 draw and downed Whatcom FC Rangers 3-2 on back-to-back days at home before falling at WPFC 3-2 the final weekend of January to advance from their group. The run, however, came to an end in the quarters, 3-1, at Washington Rush.
In the President's Cup, the B2002-B advanced from group play while both of the B2003 sides also moved onto the quarterfinals of the U15 Division 1 and 2 tournaments.
The 02Bs on their opener on the road 2-1 at FWFC. The following week they played Three Rivers to a scoreless stalemate before hitting the road for a long trip to face Washington Timbers the next day in a contest they narrowly dropped to the eventual group-winner. They rebounded at home with a 7-0 victory over Crossfire Premier to close out the month and advance to a quarterfinal meeting at Eastside FC that finished 2-1 in favor of the hosts.
The 03As charted a similar results path with a 1-0 win versus Seattle United at home followed by a 2-2 road draw at Snohomish United the following day. The next contest at home against Blackhills saw they falter in a 2-1 loss, but they rebounded the next day to finish out January with a 1-0 win at Crossfire Premier to grab a quarterfinal spot. The 03Bs, meanwhile, grabbed a win in their final group game - a 2-0 win against Crossfire Premier - to advance after dropping the first two. It put them in a three-way tie for second as the other two sides had also finish 1-2. A pair goals in each of the losses proved to be the difference. In the quarterfinals the 03A boys fell 3-0 to PacNW and the 03Bs lost 5-0 to Washington Timbers.
