Shadow host unbeaten Vancouver Saturday at Spokane Falls CC

The reigning Evergreen Premier League champions will face, arguably, their biggest test of the season thus far when the Vancouver (WA) Victory visit Spokane Falls CC Stadium Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.

The Shadow, 1-0-1, go into their second consecutive home contest with an impressive road 8-2 road win at Wenatchee in their opener and a gritty 1-1 home draw against Seattle last week on the ledger. Vancouver, 3-0-0, comes in with two road wins and a victory last week at home against Bellingham.

First Team / Club News: The Shadow will be honoring at halftime Saturday the U17 Girls, who won the Washington Youth Soccer State Cup last weekend, downing the defending champions in the tournament final to accomplish the feat… The First Team this week appointed Gerald Barnhart back into the position of General Manager of the team. Barnhart, manager of INWsoccernews.com, returns to the position after managing the team’s return to play last year as inaugural members of EPLWA… In First Team Alumni news, Mike Ramos and Nick Hamer helped lead the professional Kitsap Pumas of the USL PDL to a First Round US Open Cup win Wednesday evening. Ramos registered assists on the first two goals in a 5-2 win against FC Tacoma.

About the Opposition: Vancouver Victory

The Victory are off to a hot start. They won 3-1 in Yakima and 4-2 on the road against Olympic Force. Last week they defeated Bellingham 4-1 to raise their goal tally to the largest in the league at 11. The team is led by Timur Zhividze, who comes into the match with a league-leading four goals.

After an idle week, the Shadow will take the field again for a third consecutive home game, playing host to Yakima United on SYSA Night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm at Spokane Falls CC Stadium.
