Spokane Soccer Club Shadow congratulates our G96-B team on placing second in the nation at the US Club National Cup XI Finals Girls U15 Premier in Chicago, Ill., on July 30, 2012! The team earned the right to compete at Nationals by winning the US Club Regional XI tournament in Redmond, WA, in June. In National Cup Finals Group B play, SSC Shadow beat Northern Steel Select Soccer (3-1) and Classics Eagles FC Red (1-0) and lost to Sockers FC (0-1). The team faced Real Magic in the finals and lost a close match 1-2.
The team is coached by Brandon Schreiner, managed by Lisa Weiler and includes a roster of premier high school girls players from throughout greater Spokane and north Idaho: Kasey Ames (Central Valley HS), Lolli Butler (Lewis & Clark HS), Jessica Ellingsen (Lewis & Clark HS), Cassie Fielding (Central Valley HS), Sydney Goldfeldt (Central Valley HS), McKenzie Lemer (Ferris HS), Emma Long (Lewis & Clark HS), Hailey Nypen (Mt. Spokane HS), Megan Oliver (Gonzaga Preparatory HS), Sharaya Roberts (Ferris HS), Jessica Scott (Gonzaga Preparatory HS), Annie Shellerud (Mt. Spokane HS), Erica Simpson (Post Falls HS), McKenna Stocker (Central Valley HS), Kelsi Walker (University HS) and Sydney Weiler (University HS).
Also earning a trip to the National Cup XI Finals by winning the Regional tournament, SSC Shadow B95-A, coached by Matt Leonard and managed by Kelli Beaulaurier, competed in the U16 Boys Super Group. Although the team did not advance from group play, two losses were to teams that competed in the finals that went to overtime with a 1-0 score.
