Final RCL Fall Update (Nov 5-Dec 11)

As the holidays approach, eight Spokane Sounders teams are celebrating top-two finishes in the RCL, including championships for the Boys 98-A, 98-B, 03-B and 04-A teams in their respective leagues. Here's a round-up of the second month of RCL action from November 5 to December 11, covering the completion of the Fall campaigns, highlighted by the U13 Division 1 championship for the 04-A Boys and the kick off of a handful of Winter seasons for the high school girls.

Sounders B98-A / Sounders B98-B
It was a fantastic final season for the two sides in the U19 Division. The A squad won the Division 2 flight while the B's were champions of Division 3 as they both were nearly flawless with a combined record of 22-3-1. The 98-A's 6-0-1 over the last six weeks of the season, allowing just four goals while the 98-B's finished with a perfect run of seven wins after dropping their first game of the month, allowing just four goals as well during the win streak.

Sounders B00-A

The Sounders squad finished second in the U17 Division 2 league, going 8-5-1 on the campaign. They were 3-2-0 over the final six weeks of the season, coming up three points shy of champion Crossfire Premier, who they beat in October.

Sounders B01-A / Sounders B01-B
In the U16 Division 2 league, the A squad had three one-goal contests over their final four games, but were unable to snare any points as they finished second from bottom. The B squad, meanwhile, continued its Division 3 turnaround that started midseason after six consecutive losses. They addd to their two October wins with a 2-1-2 stretch over the final six weeks, allowing just seven goals in the five games as they continued to climb out of the cellar to finish third from bottom.

Sounders B02-A / Sounders B02-B
It was a battle of perfection for the B squad in Division 4 as they went into their final game of the year with an 11-0-1 record, but were going up against a perfect STU Chelsea side. They dominated the day before at WPFC on the road but came up short in a 2-0 loss - their first of the season - in the showdown for first, settling for second. For the A squad, November started off a bit tough with a pair of shutout losses back-to-back, but they rebounded in their Division 1 campaign with a 2-2-1 mark over the final five games to finish third from bottom.

Sounders B03-A / Sounders B03-B
The nearly perfect B squad ran off another five wins in November while allowing just one goal to finish 13-0-1 for the season. They rolled to the U14 Division 5 championship with a five point margin, allowing just five goals in 14 games and scoring 21 more than second place STU Chelsea. The A squad were unable to pick up a win in their final three games of the campaign in November, but held on to finish third from bottom based on tiebreakers.

Sounders B04-A / Sounders B04-B
After dropping their first game of the season at the end of October, the A squad were nearly perfect over the final six weeks with a 4-0-1 mark and just one goal allowed to finish 11-1-2 and Division 1 RCL champions, edging out NorthWest United, who they tied 1-1 and beat 2-0, by two points. In Division 4, a 2-1 home win against Whatcom, who finished tied for third, in the first game of November for the B squad proved huge at the end of the season as they finished third from bottom by two points.

Sounders G03-A / Sounders G03-B
The A squad finished second in U14 Division 3 with a fantastic finish to the season that left them just three point shy of first. November started with a draw before they fell 2-1 to eventual champion WPFC, who they tied 1-1 in October. WPFC and the Sounders both won out the remaining games on their schedules with Spokane allowing just two goals in their four-game win streak. Comfortably in front of the third place side, the B squad took care of business in their final two games in November with a win and a draw in celebrating a second place finish in Division 5.

Sounders G04-A / Sounders G04-B
The A squad were in the hunt for the U13 Division 2 title going into the final six weeks, but they fell 2-1 to Harbor Premier and after three consecutive wins the rest of November were upset 1-0 at Three Rivers in their December finale, finishing third and a point shy of Harbor Premier. The B squad was perfect through 10 games going into the final weeks in Division 4. They won the first game in November but dropped back-to-back one-goal decision against fellow unbeaten FWFC before winning their final game, finishing second and four points back of FWFC.
