Shadow head to Wenatchee Saturday
Club looks to continue positive results on the road; announces SYSA Night for next home game Saturday, May 31

SPOKANE SHADOW NEWS RELEASE  --  Friday, May 23, 2014

After picking up four points away from home last week with a win and a draw, the Spokane Shadow hit road once again Saturday looking to continue their successful road form over the holiday weekend as they visit Wenatchee United Saturday evening at 6:00 at the Apple Bowl.

The majority of the squad from last week is unchanged going into the trip to Central Washington. Recovered from injury, Gonzaga’s Graison Le could be making his first appearance. Also new to game day pool are goalkeeper Andrew Glaeser and Lewis & Clark’s Ben Thompson.

About the Opposition: Wenatchee United

Wenatchee is winless through three games thus far and have the worst goals-against average per game at 3.33. The record, however, could be deceptive as the three opponents are the top three in the league and currently boast a combined record of 11-2-1. Last week, United fell on the road in Vancouver 3-1. They fell at home, 5-2, in their opener three weeks ago and lost 2-1 at South Sound in the second game.

Cesar Ceppi scored the team's first goal in their season opener two minutes in only to see the team fall behind 4-1 by the 20th minute. Francisco Medina pulled back within two courtesy of Francisco Medina in the loss. After falling two down at South Sound Christian Nyanfore scored their lone goal in the second loss, and the lone tally last week came deep in stoppage time at the end of the game with Adrian Espinoza setting up Eduardo Perez.

Next Home Game – Saturday, May 31 – SYSA NIGHT

The Spokane Shadow will be featuring the Spokane Youth Sports Association at the next home game on Saturday, May 31. Kids wearing their SYSA soccer jersey will get in free to the game on SYSA Night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm at Spokane Falls CC Stadium. Family-friendly tailgating begins at 5:00 and the gates open at 6:05. The Shadow play host to WestSound FC, whom they defeated 3-0 last week on the road.
